I do remember! A couple of creators noticed that "downs" were being used as group bullying against creators, especially women creators. So there was a mini-campaign to remove the dislike button. Additionally, Facebook's sole currency was the "like," and that seemed to be working well at the time as an affinity signal. The barrier to creating content was still high enough that you didn't need down-signals to filter content; up-signals were enough.
